"Labor Day Carnival Parade" has grown over the years from thousands of participants and tourists to over 3.5 million people in attendance since the mid - 1990's. The influx of tourists from all over the world has benefited New York City on an economic level, most recognizably with large corporations, small businesses and the tourist/service industry.

WAIDCA has been the driving force behind the West Indian Carnival Parade, more popularly known as the "Labor Day Parade." WIADCA is a not-for-profit, tax exempt organization which was established in 1967. The main focus of this organization is to develop, teach and promote Caribbean arts and culture in the New York Metropolitan Area.
